GTA3 ripped to CDR for magic3
GTA3 ripped to CDR for magic3 –
Hey, I've just installed a magic3 ICE and wanted to test it with a rip of my GTA3. I don't have a DVD-r drive, only a CDRW (LiteON 52x24x52x with Nero). I've looked in the instructions for rip kits and they say this game completely fits on a CDR without loosing any part of the game. Just dummy files, is this true?
Any ways, some rip kits say "no mod" and others don't. I've read that the no mod kits are for AR/GS or knife trick. Is that right? Basically I want to know what kit I should use for the magic3 to get GTA3 onto a CDR.
a rip kit is a tutorial for the average joe to rip a game.
you need the original dvd game, and a dvd-rom or a drive that can read dvds.
a no mod kit is for people with no-solder mods or using different tricks. the no mod kits take more stuff out of the rip so it's less than 74 minutes so it can boot on those systems
Okay, I forgot to mention that I do have a DVDrom but I don't have a DVD burner. I've already copied (cut and paste) the DVD to my HD. I've got other rip kits for GTA3 that don't mention 'no mod'. Thanks for clearing up what 'no mod' means. I thought they were for direct boot modchips.
So it wont work if I burn the iso that the 'no mod' rip kit makes? But it should work if I use a regular rip kit/tutorial, right?
Can anyone confirm that GTA3 is loaded with dummy files to make it look like it's over 2GB?
Well, I've looked at those rip kits that don't say anything about 'no mod'. Their instructions say they've been tested with NeoKey and GS ver 1.x. So I guess they won't be compatible with direct boot modchips.
So what I should do is get a DVDr and do a direct 1:1 backup or image then burn. I tried many different burning programs to make an image of the disk and well, wasn't successful. I guess I need a DVDr before the burning programs will let me do a disk image of a DVD. I thought I'd atleast be able to make an image with my DVDrom drive.
