    Hello friends:

I am trying to create a backup of my original GT4 PAL on a Verbatim DVD -R DL media.

I have patched the .iso with the

    1. Toxic patcher, followed by the
    2. ESR patcher as I have an original PS2 (not modded).

Now while burning the patched .iso using ImgBurn, it asks me "Can not set the layer break position while burning DVD -R DL media"

It gives me the options to abort the operation or continue.

Now my question to you all experts is...
Can I continue burning and ignore this message? Would I get a playable backup, If I ignore this.

Hasn't the Toxic patcher fixed the layer break problem? What exactly it does?

When I checked the ImgBurn forum for the error message.. I found this...
"DVD-R DLs are near enough useless unless the original layer break happens to be in the exact same position as the fixed layer break on the blank media"

How can I found the layer break info for my blank media and for my GT4 backup?
I'm sure they won't be same, but IS THIS THE HACK that Toxic patcher provides so in that case my backup (ignoring the message) should work as I have applied Toxic patch.

I can not use the DVD +R media, as my burner does not support changing the book type as instructed in the ESR forum as required for DVD +R media.

    Please help me.

How about backing it up on a DVD-5? It worked perfectly for me and actually did not notice any serious graphics degradation. If you want to give it a shot here's the tutorial and complete kit off course not included cd/dvd gen... If any of the files in this package violates rules please delete...

    SONIX's Complete kit:
    Code:
    removed
I know this does not answer your question but just in case you wanna give it a shot...

    I removed the link...

Thanks for the reply but I already tried this method and have failed.

See this link where I posted my problem with the ripkit...

The ESR is able to load the DVD till the point where it shows the very first screen of copyright or something like that. After that it flashes Dark Blue, Magenta, and then Cyan colors (and in this order). After this, there's just blank screen.

See the details in that post.

Ok I got hold of a Moser Baer DVD +R media (in India) and a burner supporting bitsetting (book type) and it works flawlessly.

Thanks to Toxic and ffgriever for excellent ESR and offcourse FMCB.
