What are some good brands of dvd-r.
Imation!, they can be expensive, but are far the best quality i have ever seen, never one bad one. Memorex suck!, otherwise i have had very good luck with, Imation, FujiFilm and HP invent
I have 8x fujifilm. I havent burned a game yet but have done many movies. All you have to remember is not to burn at max speed. I burn at 4x and havent had a problem yet with fuji.
Where do you buy imation?? I cant see them at futureshop.com or bestbuy.com.Quote:

Eww Imation, never know what you're getting with those, they outsource to everyone under the sun. Primarily they seem to be using CMC Magnetics and Moser Baer India for their discs atm (two of the crappiest disc manufacturers), which is also who Memorex (another company who outsources to almost everyone) are mostly using. So a good chance you're getting the same discs as Memorex with a different label on them. HP is much the same story, Fuji is a mixed bag the Made In Japan ones are Taiyo Yuden, the Taiwanese ones come from a few manufacturers, ones made by Ricoh are the pick of that bunch.Quote:

As for my vote, I picked "other" any major brand Japanese made media is fine. Taiyo Yuden, TDK, Ricoh, Sony, Hitatchi Maxell. If it has the words "Made In Japan" on the pack it wont be cheap junk. (Unless it's cloned/faked brand media)
The sony rw's i got a few weeks ago were made in taiwan.
