IMO, anything that can read a DVD-ROM, make an image of it onto your computer, then burn it at 1x speed (always for saftey) is a good burner.
I have heard that Pioneer is the best. And that is what I use. So for a short answer, I would say probably yes.
I think the IO Mag's were NEC drives...not sure. The early NEC's had some crappy firmwares and needed to be flashed with a newer one to fix some bugs. I've used IO Mag products before and they were decent, but didn't last very long with the abuse I put on my equipment. Remember it is one of the cheaper drives on the market......there may be a reason for that.....
