Sony all the way only reason i am saying that is i have one the sony dru-500a when they first came out and burns 4X perfect every time never had 1 problem over 500 burns at least. Friends got one same thing.
i got a DRU-510a and haven't had one problem with it either but the pioneer one is really good too i hear. I think either way u get the best out of both just stay away from thouse no name brand cheap ones i think.
Both are great drives, but the Sony price is a little high.
...but its be 200 after the rebate, thats why i considerd it.
The Pioneer has a rebate too...
you could buy a lot cheaper on pricewatch

I know the Pioneer has a good rep, but never heard much about the Sony thats why I asked...
I may just go with the Pioneer if most feel theyre just as good as each other...
