This goes for both of them when im playing them on esr. Final fantasy 12 used to work flawlessly until i lost the backup, so i had to burn another. (using the same image i got from my original) And now, it either gets stuck at the purple screen, or cycles through red blue purple and blue (which it did before and worked) but gets stuck at a nice CALMING black screen. Same goes for 10, except sometimes itll work, but most times it does what final fantasy 12 does, cycle through the colours and either stop at purple or black; or in the case of luck it would turn on.

I use verbatims DVD-R (only way to go for backups)
    Imgburn at x2
after i get the image from my original i patch it with 0.24a ESR patcher.

Other games work fine like FF7, is a flawless bootup. Works everytime.

Could it be my cd/dvd drive on my computer? Its about 4 - 5 years old. (IDE connection)
I also did some FCMB installs for a couple of friends. (could this be the problem aswell?) Running FCMB off my usb using ULE launcher from my first mem card. Or could it be my memory card?

I'm just about at wits end. Any help will be appreciated.

Alright i figured the problem out. LOL Look at me helping me, if anyone has this problem. It was my cd/dvd burner, it died so i used my bros to burn a new copy and it worked just like new.

I'm glad it works for you now, but be aware that the burning speed you mentioned is lower than it should be. If you are using anything close to the 16X Verbatim discs I use myself, then a burn speed of around 8X is much more suitable, and for good modern discs in general we recommend a speed of appx half the max speed of the given disc type.

The widespread belief in the benefits of burning discs at 1X or 2X speeds relates mostly to the use of crap media, which should be avoided at all times anyway for other obvious reasons.

    Best regards: dlanor
