Sorry buddy ..... DNAS on that game is the strongest (and the 1st one) one ever made by Sony.
To give you a idea, the DNAS routines are not in the disc, but on the PlayOnline Vuiewer executable that is on your PS2 HDD. That's why you have to install it then boot it to install the FFXI disc. The fact that it will only install stuff after is fully updated mangles any attempt to patch it's DNAS protection (Any patching will get overwritten once it updates)
The thing is so pesky that all the programs related to PlayOnline are bound to both the HDD and your PS2 serial nos. :o
So man it will be way easier hunt for a retail copy, even thought you already have the contents ID for CoP the DNAS crap makes things hard. The best way to do this is aways buy the PS2 version and try to nag a copy of the PC one from yout friends lol. There is no protections on the PC version besides the keys to create the account and content-ids.
