dvdrip to dvd-r?

I was wondering if you can burn dvdrips onto DVD-rs and them work properly?

Arrrrr, yon DVD Rips have the DVDcheck removed from the program so thats yer ps2 thinks they BELONG on CD and not DVD. If'n yer gonna put it on a DVD...then get the whole game instead of yon rip. Believe me, yer laser will thank you!

the point would be, that i don't have enough money to rent the games and then copy them. I already have a lot of dvdrips downloaded, and i was just curious.

Copy your originals you should legally own.
