DVD5 and DVD9
I am a bit confused at the moment, and I need to clarify myself. A DVD5 is a regular DVD+/-R that I can buy at Best Buy, and burn most games, and a DVD9 is a multilayer DVD that I would imagine I can't buy OTS (off the self). This is all confusing.. I want to copy a game that I own.. Xenosaga, when I put it in the DVD tray, view the properties, I get 3.95GB, but when I copy to the HDD as an ISO with DVD Decrypter, I get an 8GB file. That is because the game is a DVD9?? Second, is there a way to copy the game directly over :-pray: ?? Obviously, it sees the game is only 3.95GB, why cant I get it to go to the other DVD like that?? Am I nuking the whole DVD9 layer thing? :banghead:

As you know there is no way of making a 1:1 backup of a dvd9, The only way is to ripp the game and burn it on a dvdr. You see 3.96bg becaue the rest of the files are hidden....

OHHHHH... can I buy a DVD9 at the store?? order online?? or am I sol?

You can buy DVD+R DL disks (DVD9), but you will need a dual layer DVD burner that supports +R media, a modchip that supports DVD9.
In order for your PS2 to read the +R DL disks you may need to change the booktype of the disk to DVD-ROM as I don't believe ps2 can read them if the booktype is DVD+R. Of course that means the DVD±R drive you are burning with must support bitsetting.

in other words, don't waist my time with Xenosaga ;)
