    Is the qualitly of games different between a Ripped copy as opposed to a DvD burned copy?

    depends
    sometimes they remove crap like demos or trailers that arent part of the game
    other times they remove cutscenes or downsample them in which case yes its worse
    if u can get dvd, then get them. rips are inferior for sure. just how inferior depends on each game.

    Yes they do regardless of your version ps2. Rips cause much more strain on your laser than your original or normal backup does, shortening its lifespan.

    yah i dont think v7 is exempt, i think its just better at handling it ie. wont die as fast as previous versions cuz it has a better laser. but i think rips put much more strain on your laser, so make sure you use good media and try to play dvdr rather.
