that's great, but i believe he was talking about the neo 2.5 dvd. I was just saying that there is a way to boot dvdr with 2.5 and GS 1.99d/2.0.

I am using an Auto Key 3 chip on a NTSC US V5 board and I was having the same problem with Gameshark2 V2.01 1.99d americas. Basically the disk wouldn't eject for the second swap and would come out spinning afterwards. After a lot of posts on ps2ownz, I came to the conclusion that only the 1.93 worked...so I got one and yes, 1.93 worked. But then another guy posted saying he figured out how to do it with 2.01, he said the Dave Mirra 2 code, which is to be set as default, doesn't work with 2.01 and he used Armoured Core 2 code as default and it worked fine. Try that, I haven't verrified this because with my chip, a resistor has to be removed for 1.93 and therefore I removed mine and dont feel like putting it back on just to check if his method works Give it a try though.

    Nightstalker posted this in www.fileforums.com.

Do the first swap during the main screen, wait about 30 seconds or so, then open a code list and turn off all the codes, or select ones you want to use. When you are sure the disc has stopped spinning, start the game with codes. There should be about a 15-30 second delay before spin-up while you have the "updating Code List" screen. This gives you time to do the second swap. I've tested it with my GS2 ver. 2.11, and I have about 25 Seconds before spinup, and it loads the game fine.

    Good Luck!

If you don't mind ripping your drive tray to pieces, by all means try......

If it's been said once, it's been said a dozen times-----MOD IT!!!

Swap mods are EXTREMELY cheap. Even the pricey $30 ones are less then 1/7 the cost of replacing the PS2, or half what it will cost to replace the busted drive tray.

    http://www.modchipinc.com/pages/nosolder.htm

These guys have been promoting a no-solder for v5/v6 US for $9.99 plus S/H. Got one for $14.99 delivered for my v5. Not the greatest, but it will hold me till I get a US Messiah (DVD Burner is priority right now).

Please, listen to the warnings---get a modchip and save your box......and your money!
