DVD-R games without a modchip
DVD-R games without a modchip –
There's a rumour that now it's possible to play DVD-R games on the PS2 without having a modchip installed. I think it is impossible, but...
If anyone knows of anything regarding this subject please post it.
Meanwhile i will buy a game to the person that is selling those games to see if it is true.
You would need to get a flip-top case and use a swap disc.
either way you have to open up your ps2 and void your 90-day warranty..... but who gives a shit
and yes, you can boot a DVD-r/+r with Swap Magic +no solder/fliptop
Ill sell ya my DVD burner so you can see if it is true!
You have to have a means of changing the disks without the PS2 knowing they've changed. The only way to do this is to bypass the eject sequence. The plug mod's and flip-tops are the safest way to do this, the "Knife Trick" used without one of this mod's is very dangerous and can wreck your drive tray mechanics over time.
Of course the most recommended and coveted option is to have a chip professionally soldered to the board. If the budget (or personal reasons) prevents this, the no-solder mod or flip top is the next best option. I would recommend the chip over the flip top because you're not required to expose the innards of your PS2 everytime you need to swap.
