is either Verbatim DVD-R or DVD+R media good for on the ps2 laser as backups?

This question is answered in the sticky messages at the top. Albeit in a roundabout way

If your ps2 laser is in good working condition, then either should be fine. Older PS2's (v3 and down, I think) tend to have more problems reading +R (due to the condition/state of the laser), so more success might be had with -R.
