just simply put in mode ISO WRITE and burn at slowest speed, same for both as essentially the same software

Burning at the slowest speed is no longer the preferred way to burn DVD backups. Either use the AUTO mode, or write at half the max speed of the disc. It all depends on your burner and discs.

Umm....I wouldn't use AUTO speed for burning anything either, you can bet on crappy media it will burn at too high a speed and make it unusable. Half max speed is what I use on verb 16x dvd+r's, never fails.

8x-12x should be fine on most modern drives and mid/high quality DVD media.
    Slim PS2 SCPH-70004 (v13) w/ FMCB, 3x Sony 8MB, 1x MaxMemory 16MB (Backup card)

I'm not available for FMCB installation service until I can guarantee a processing time of a few days again, sorry.
