DVD burner price drop?

I have been thinking about buying a DVR-A04 burner, but before I spend all that money I was wondering if a price drop is expected soon.

If you're in the States, just keep an eye out over at www.pricewatch.com and when one of the resellers finally offers the either the DVR-A04 (retail box) or DVR-104 (OEM bare drive) at a price that fits into your budget -- buy it.

So is the Pioneer A04/104 the best DVD burner out? I also hear that the Toshiba model is close behind. Any problems with either? thanks

pioneer is definately the best in terms of dvd-r... sony have got a new burner out which does both - and + formats... but not worth it seeing as + media seems to have a few issues with ps2s, although in a years time + becomes the more widely supported format might be good to have. The pioneer are due for their A05/105 to superceed the A04/104 drives in a few weeks, so there might be a price drop then. Also, once the new drive comes out you might find whatevers left of the A04's at clearance prices.
