Hey, I am going to buy a DVD burner, but i don't know what is the right one for me? I mean there are tons out there. I hear on the A06 you can upgrade the Firmware to make it burn at 8x speeds, can you do this for the A07 or will you be able to?
Can some just help me choose a good burner to make back ups of my games? I have a Messaiah 2 so what will be best for that?
What about OEM products are they good too?

Well take this much. Pioneer is pretty much the best out there. the A06 is nice for dual and the A07 is fast but 8x dvd-r is only sold my one manufacturer so it will be very expensive and next to nothing will be able to read it. Also -r is compatible with everything and all ps2 models where as +r is complatible with next to nothing. So taking that into consideratio and that dvd9 burners are around the corner depending on the price difference I would go with an A06 or an A05 point being you shouldn't burn over 2x for ps2 and my A05 is ROCK solid.
Why shouldn't you burn over 2x for PS2? As long as you have good media 4x is fine. I have many bakups to prove it :DQuote:

And yes I agree with you that the A05 is a top burner...
