i am thinking of getting a pioneer (cyndyne) 105. what is the difference between a05? Do i need to update aspii divers? which one? i am using windows ME. what is the difference betwen IDE and OEM? how do i know which one to get? do i need to reinstall burner sowftware? what do i need besides bare drive? what cables? software? do i need to update it first with patches? firmware? which ones 1.33? wtf is firmware? what else do i need besides drive installed and porgram to burn with and dvd-r? anything i am missing?

105 = bare OEM drive
A05 = Pioneer labeled retail bundle.
Same drive.
IDE = Intelligent Drive Electronics
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer
You got an apples and oranges thing going there.
Do some reading through the threads here, plus look at the Sticky up top on the 104 thread.
