Since the dvd-r is a 1:1 copy except for the region codes, I'd think it would be as quiet as the original.
My new TDK True 2X's play jsut as the original--just as fast and as quiet--if I burn them at 2X. At 1X, they suck! The older 1X that i was using (Princo/Lead Tech) were a bit sluggish towards the outer half of the disc on larger games, and gave my PS2 a bit of a work out. Quality media does make a difference here.
Raist
my dvd-r copies (most at 2x) are quieter and load faster than the originals.... weird... (no the originals werent scratched to hell)
