I have burnt some dual layer games and I have weird results...

    50 Cent : Bulletproof
    Champions Of Norrath
    God Of War
    Gran Turismo 4
    Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance

Are all working, 50 Cent and CoN have the dual layer patch, the other three I have played on my now sold v12 with dms4. All of them are Traxdata discs, Ritek, except 50 Cent.

    Then I have these 2:

    Wild Arms Alter Code F
Xenosaga Episode 1 Der Wille Zur Macht

    Both have DL patch.

Both are on Philips DVD+R DL media and book type DVD-ROM and both of them boots to the toxic logo and after a while, unable to read disc.
These 2 however, are not tested with my v12/dms4 only on a duo2 and a modbo ps2. 50 Cent worked on the duo2 ps2.
So whats up with this? Will it work with my soon to have v13/dms4 ps2?
    Thanks for replies....

Maybe the duo2 and the modbo don't support backup DVD9 discs.

did u use the toxic dual layer patcher before u burn the game..?
this thing will make ur dual layer games work on older chip, like urs (duo and other older chip) dms4, matrix and crystal chip have already had this featture to boot dual layer without patching the iso...

Yeah I patched it before I burnt it, I dont want to have to set that option on/off all the time with toxic os 0.3 so I patched instead. Another question then, you think it'll work with the dual layer option in toxic even if I have patched it?
I get another ps2 today woth a dms3 and I'll test the games on that one too.
    Thanks:=)

IMHO it is the media. Won't touch anything but Verbatim for a D/L disc.

    Thats what I think too...
But it's pretty weird though that 1 game on the same brand works and 2 does not. Im gonna try on some other ps2s first though before i buy new discs.

Edit: Both of them worked in a v7 ps2 with dms3, and so did a backup of Genji that I burned today so, problem solved

So it was the media, then? Just because 1 game works on the same media doesn't mean it isn't a media issue. I had crappy Princo DVD-Rs and some games would work great each time and others would freeze up on me all of the time. Bottom line some games are more demanding than others in terms of loading, ect. So the less demanding games would work okay on cheaper quality media but the others wouldn't.
