Does Silent Hill 3 require a patch?

Do newer dvd backups require patches? I just tried to copy SH3 off the original and my messiah 2 did not even read it, it actually gave me a disc read error. Did 2 burns, same disc error. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

I don't know- what program you use to burn dvd's- i use NERO and it's fine for me

No patch required... I am playing it now on an M2Pro modded v6 machine, burnt on a Verbatim DVD-R. Software used was RecordNow DX.
