You need to increase the cd power pot on your lazer unit just a tiny bit, that's all. They all darken from their own heat, and eventually burn out, but you can tune the pots once or twice durning the lazers lifetime, to clear up read errors that occur later in the lazer's lifetime. Yeah, it just burns them out quicker, but I'd rather 6 or 7 more months of smooth performance, than a year of freezing, hesitation, dre's, and the like. CD-R's don't have as much reflected light, and they give trouble a lot easier.
