Ok Im having some serious trouble getting any backups to work at all, matter of fact none have worked yet and I have been trying different things for two days straight. I just recieved a premodded v9 ps2 with the dms3 modchip installed from modchipman.com. The modchip is definately in there and working because I can get to their browser screens and do fast boot and things like that using an original ps2 disk. However when i try to make dvd backups all i get is a loud cd spinning sound and some clicking noises and then the disk read error message. Im using and NEC burner, verbatim dvd-r disks, have tried both dvd dycryptor and nero, and have tried final fantasy x-2, devil may cry 1, and tokyo extreme racer 3. Nothing works and I always get the same noises and error message. Im burning at low speed (set at 1x but I think its actually burning at 2.4x) and I dont know what the problem could be. Anyway any help would be appreciated especially from any other dms3 owners!!!

Try a different brand of DVD-R. Otherwise it may be that the install was done poorly or a wire came loose...

The other option is to clean the laser the clicking your hearing is the lazer bouncing back and forth trying to get a read on your dvd-r's. So different media or clean the lazer.
