I am thinking of changing my modchip from a non bootable modchip to the DMS 3 modchip. I heard that the V4 PS2's can't really take a bootable modchip well. Weak laser or something. Does the DMS 3 modchip work ok with a V4 PS2 (PAL).
TIA

yeha laser just needs to be adjusted or sotmhing
I just installed a dms3 on my v4. it plays cdrs w/o problem, and even some dvd-rs. you just have to try different brand dvd-rs to see what works. Play around a little till you figure out your situation
I don't think you will have any problem if you get a dms 3 on your v4, only thing you might have to worry about is your laser dieing on you, Even if you adjust your laser it's not going ot help much, it might last for a week to a month or two. But other then that dms3 is a very good chip, make sure you clean your laser once in a while tho.
You should maybe search the DMS3 website about V4's before you make your decision.
i have fliptop/swap magic on my V4, works like a charm!
