creating an dvd image from a file. –
I have a rar file with all the dvd contents, however when I burn the extracted file as a straight to the dvd in iso 9660 format, the game doesnt boot, regardless of my boot method. (PS2 V1, Starchip w/GS v2)
I am searching for the for the way to get around this, from what i've been reading I need a utility that will the the folder contents and form an DVD ISO image, from there all I do is burn.
Any help would be appreciated.
hope you are not saying you just tried burning a .rar file straight to disk? open it with winrar and it will no doubt extract an image file and that is what you need to burn, what program to use will depend on what format the image file is.
no I didnt burn the .rar file directly... I extracted it into a folder, but noticed the dvd'd contents, also noticed there was no .bin/cue files, img or .iso files to be found.
it looks like someone just literally ripped the 2.8 gigs of data straight from the dvd... and then just made a .rar file.
I'm trying to locate a utility (have ps2gen 3, but dont know how to use it) to make a dvd image, either bin/cue or iso so I can burn it.
are you sure it was a rar file to begin with? could have been an iso, when you install winrar it sets itself as the default program to open iso files so there might not have been a need to extract anything.
Ya know, it was named as a .rar file... I never even thought of that.
I'll try renaming and dropping it into the burner app and see it if works.
Wish me luck...
