ok heres the deal i have a ver 7 ps2 with a smartchip installed and i just burned a ps2 cd game ncaa2002 with recordnow max it plays great but while i am playing i hear noises as if the laser is scratching on the cd or something is scratching but when i play my back up of nba live 2004 it plays great and i dont hear that noise of scratching the cd or something i just want to make sure that i am not messing up my laser by doing this or is it just the burning program i am using and by the way the type of cd-r media i am using is Harmony Multimedia

i never heard of that cdr type but is your ncaa 2002 a rip? i thought it was a dvd formatted game. i have to look into that but if it is a rip of a dvd game put onto a cdr you are putting a good amount of strain on the laser.

no it is a cd game ncaa 2002 was not a dvd game

I have noticed this as well with metal slug 4 back up and an original version of maximo.

I've got a dms3 chip installed, i only had it fitted a couple of days ago, and my laser was in good condition according to the installer.

whatever it is...it seems like ur ps2 is working his ass off just to make yall happy...might wanna stay away from those backup...
