Commandos 2 - Loading Issues

I created a .gi image of Commandos 2 using RecordNow Max 4. The global image was created successfully and I then burned it on a maxell DVD-R. After loading it on a 3901 system the screen sais 'loading'..goes to a black screen and then the 'insert PS2 disc' screen pops up. To ensure that I burned it correctly I placed the original in there.. the screen sais 'loading' and then black screen, but then eventually loads the game. However, the orginial took about 2 tries before it loaded after that initial black screen. I noticed some flashes on the screen after the 'loading' window which seems like the system is doing some double check. Has anyone successfully played this as a backup? I'm using one of my Apple v2 chipped units. Could this phenomenon really be related to the game having a safety 'doublecheck disc' protection on it or could it be media or burn method related? Strange, if it was a bad burn the initial 'loading' screen should have never popped up... Maybe i'm wrong.

I dunno mate you need to be more specific about when you burned it .

What speed burn?

I havn't got the game but would suggest Verbatims burned at 2X
Or any other Media with HIGH REFLECTABILATY at 2X

DVD-R 104: @2x Maxell DVD-R Media - RecordNow Max 4

I have burned several games with that same setup and this is the 1st prob i've run into. Because the original does not boot properly or as smoothly has all other originals I've tried how much of an issue is the backup really? Curious to know if anyone that has the original has had probs loading it on a modded system. I will later try to burn at 1x or better yet burn it on my DVR-S201 drive with authoring media @1x.

NO BURN @2X mate it makes all the difference My GTA:Vice did NOT want to work AT ALL when recorded @1X but i did another burn @2X and it runs Flawlessly, same image, same method,

I havn't got commandos 2 but please believe me burns @2X work much better I don't really know why ?!!

Thnx for the advice... I'll try to burn again at the same speed (2x).
