Combining MDf and MD0 files
Combining MDf and MD0 files –
Hello. My brother came over for the holidays and ripped a PS2 game to my PC for me. I wasn't there when he did itl He mentioned something about a 4 gig file size limit so there were 2 files instead of one. I know he used Alcohol 120%
I checked the folder and there are 3 files. A MDf file (3.99 gigs), and MDs file (5k), and a MD0 file (294 megs). I know the mds isn't part of the game, but i think the other 2 are the same game in 2 parts. I dont know how to combine them into one game again so I can put it on HDL.
Does anybody know how?
load alcohol mount the image and rip with dvd decrypter
I just renamed the MDF to ISO and burnt it as an ordinary ISO.
i would know what to do if it was just an mdf file. but if i'm understanding right, the mdf and the md0 are part of the same game. i dont know how to make it into one file that i can load into hdl.
I may be wrong but just load one of the files and it should pick up the other parts by it self..
command prompt (dos)
copy /b part1.mdf + part2.md0 final.iso

you really need to learn to read the rules. You posted in the wrong forum section.
Not to mention that there was no need to that action in DOS as Alcohol handles splitted files just fine... Other than that making ISO's from other type of images with a simple rename is quite a dangerous game, I would not be surprised if your game would lock up somewhere later during gameplay. Then thank that to your action...
pS: not to mention that if you had a file size limit (4Gb) that time, and now you did a merge how did your OS handle the big file that is bigger than 4GB now ??? Strange, but you probably know what you're doing...
