Chip or Burn ?

I have a problem booting some games days after they were working fine, My Midnight Club Dub, Juiced, GT4 (ripped to DVD5), F1 2005.. and a few more, Once they were working perfect but now either they dont load or are very very slow to where its unplayable.
I have the Crystal Chip with the latest Firmware and Bootmanager 1.6.
i've burnt over 30 games and about 5-6 are having probs. Im using the Ritek G05 and burning in DVD Decrypter at 4X.
oh and they are DVD-R, and im also burning them in a LG Dual Layer bunrer that can burn at 16X.
any help would be appreciated

Sounds like media issues or your laser is starting to get weaker.
I really DOUBT its a chip problem.

Remember, discs from same spindle can vary in quality too.
The 2-3 discs on top of spindel are often bader quality than the rest. dont ask me why.

i would say its the g05's i have found they are'nt that good for ps2's & they have been known to loose the data on them after afew month's try using verbatims i find that they are good

Some ps2's don't like g05's, try using a different media like apple,verbatim,tdk,imation etc and you should be fine.

thx guys for the replies... i have found out that my problem was burning at 4X ?!?!?!?
im now burning at 8X on the G05's and all is good.. i re-copied the bad disks back to pc HDD and re-burnt them at 8X.. i know its weird but hey its been about a week now and im seriously playing them like mad to see if that prob comes up.. so far not one prob :-)
the next problem now is getting people online with Juiced lol

I never played Juices how is it? Does it come close to Midnight Club 3?

Not surprising at all. Several other people reported the same thing with their Ritek media. Unless they burn at the max rated speed it doesn't work properly. This isn't true for everybody but it is funny that this seems to be centered around Ritek. Just out of curiosity though, where do you live? If you live in the US I would definitely be switchin to Taiyo Yuden at this point. The 4x media is cheaper than pretty much any G04 or G05 Ritek media that I have seen and Ritek has taken a dive in quality as of late.
