Quick question about the 4X media--not sure if anyone has tried them yet.
I'm not up to spead on exactly what the new standard requires to enable 4X burning, butI understand the recording process may be a bit tricky for these media (gotta flash my A04 to support it).
Would there also be a problem with the PS2 reading the media as well?
I only ask because I may upgrade to the 105 and pass the A04 to my brother (nice birthday gift, eh?)

Flashing the A04 will only allow you to use 4X media not burn at 4X.
Burning at 4x should be fine as long as you have good quality media
I have a pioneer A03 so I can still only burn at 2x :(
Thx Daddy, but I knew about the 2X limit--it's a hardware thing, not firmware. The flashing is to correct a bug in the firmware that may burn out the hardware with 4X media. That is why I'm concerned about the impact of 4X media on the PS2. If it can potentially damage my tried and tested A04/Prassi combo, will they also potentially damage my v5 NTSC PS2?
That is what I am worried about.
