I did much searching around the net for a way to copy this game using single layer DVDs. I mainly used http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/71589 in conjunction with the swapmagicfix.com instructions and other sites' input. I made the first CD and it works, but I'm not sure how to make the second one that will be different. For the first I just sent all the files I had ripped off my game disc with dvddecrypter then extracted with ultraiso to the disc in DVD/CD generator. If I send all the files again, it will be the same disc as the first, but then you wouldn't need two. So? I can't tell the difference between the file lists of the first and second disk.
Extra info: here is the swapmagicfix directions:
Using $ony's CD/DVD Generator v1.50 software rebuild your Champions Of Norrath: Realms Of EverQuest
2-DVDR images being sure to drag and drop the files into CD/DVD Gen in the order below when rebuilding.
If you don't know how to merge layers, downsample, deal with split discs, etc please visit
WWW.PS2OWNZ.COM DVDRip Forums for additional assistance in doing so.

Finally, under the VOLUME tab for Disc Name use SLUS 20565 for USA. This 'modified' new image will now
work perfectly with Swap Magic v2.0 DVD Disc for all version PS2 consoles. Enjoy!

If you are backing up your original DVD9 disc and only see layer0 files, you can use UltraISO and extract
the layer1 (second layer) "BG" tree folders to get the files necessary for making your 2-DVDR back-up.

Also when rebuilding your image in CD/DVD Generator 1.50 you can drag and drop the files in this order for
both discs: SYSTEM.CNF, SLUS_205.65, NTGUI2.ELF, CONF, DATA, DATA2, MODULES, MODULES2, NETGUI, NGC, and BG
directory. Although we included the DISC #1 and DISC #2 filelists below for reference, there is no need to
drag the files individually for this title into CD/DVD Generator- it will still work just fine for you
Then it has the file lists, which I wont post unless someone asks (the afterdawn link has the jist of them, tho not completely right)

thanks,
