Cendyne DVD +/- R ???
Hey guys check this out
has anyone heard if this is just a rebadged pioneer drive? Is cendyne a reliable company if they arent rebadged pioneer drives? I would like to get this drive as a more affordable solution to Sony's +/- R drive
They are rebadged pioneers just watch the dvd burn speed. 4x is a 1/A05 and 2x is a 1/A04.
THiS isnt a rebadged Pioneer drive, I have the rebadged 4x Cendyne, and it truly is a Pioneer DVR-105. Works great by the way, but It wont do +R, so I think this is another company...
Would be cool if it was the Sony DRUXXXX ;)
Its a NEC-1300A, i'm thinking about getting this drive to place my Pioneer A04.
The Cendynes are refurbed units--most likely rejected by the mfg. for failing QA testing, then fixed by third party or customer returns that were fixed by the mfg. and resold on the side. Same way Hi-Val got started. They will all be a name-brand design--some will even still have the original brand name stickers on them. Just make sure you put it to the test early on so you can negotiate an exchange while under warranty if there are any problems.
I bought my A04 as a white-boxed refurb from a wholesaler in Savannah, GA over a year ago. After over 100 DVD burns, it's still running strong!
My first Cendyne DVR-105 was super buggy. Only worked if set as Secondary Master (would lock up computer if set to slave).
Then it only burned disks for couple days before going tits-up.
After I RMA'd it, thereplacement worked like a charm. With the hacked drivers, I'm a 2x Princo burning machine.
USA if u read the mannual it clearly stated to set it as seconday master :)
as if for the other probs...who knows
