    Ok here's the deal.

I recently got my PAL V5 PS2 chipped with a ****** 2 gold and found out it will cause an 'upshifted' picture when playing original PSX NTSC imports.

My only option now is to extract the game to my hd , then convert it to PAL with P4U and burn it on a CDR.

If I were to use good CDR brands (sony, tdk, philips) , would it be ok for my PS2 laser?

Mind you I plan on playing Xenogears which is a very long game (+ 60 hours).

I really don't want to **** up my laser

Thanks in advance for any help

Arrrrrrrr, most of yon DVDrips on CD will wear yer laser out quicker than a sailer finds a woman when on shore leave! I would recomends converting all yer PSX games to PAL, seems ta me that apparently the chip ye got doesn't support NTSC imports 100%.

Its CD based + if you read my post carefully you would have seen that I converted the game from NTSC to PAL

As long as you are using good media, it won't wear out your laser. DVDRips, like the Captain mentioned, aren't too great for the laser, but CD backups are fine. Just use TDK, Verbatim, or something like that.
