then I burned a copy with Alcohol 120%

but it won't play on my PS2 with the infinity matrix

Try burning it with DVD Decrypter and use good media at a slower speed and see if it works for you.

I got it working 70% of the time by clicking the overburn option on Alcohol 120% and by using a slower speed

It now freezes on the loading screen sometimes

don't use alcohol 120%, just use dvd decrypter to create the iso and also burn with dvd decrypter at 2x and use good media not crap media otherwise you are going to wear your laser. also you should keep the firmware on your dvd burner up to date.

Mine continues to do it. I am using Fujifilm DVD-Rs at 2x speed, and it is still freezing on the loading screen. Should i limit the speed of the ISO to the computer? Does that help? I am unsure how to fix what im doing.

Is the original game disc working fine but you are having problems only with the back-up disc? Are you using DVD-Decrypter? If you have the original disc, try to back-up it up again w/ DVD-Decrypter. Your back-up ISO file may be bad.
