Can you backup GT4 to HDD without modchip?

Hi, I have a PS2 with a Hard drive in it and using HDAdvance 3.0, but no mod chip. I have amost of my games backed up to the HDD already but can`t seem to get some games working like, GT4, Fight Night Round 3, and NHL 2006. I know most EA games need to be changed to Mode 3 to work, but what about GT4?

Can make an image on my computer for these, transfer them to my hard drive on my PS2 and run them without a mod chip?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Just make a clean iso of GT4 with DVD Decrypter and transfer to your hdd with winhiip. Also just make sure you're running the latest hdl (0.8b) and it should work without any problem.

but what about games like my nhl06 and Fight night round 3, can i do the same without a modchip. my problem with these games is that i can get them on my HDD but they don't work/load

Doing that method is best when ripping iso's from ALL your dvd games.

Fight Night Round 3 and NHL '06 are compatible with mode 3 enabled

Edit - also, for compatibility of games you want to install to your hdd, you may want to check out ps2hd's Compatibility List

k, now that i know and have images made for those games, i seem to have trouble connecting my ps2 to my PC. i tried to use HDL_dump 2.1 GUI, but it couldn't detect my PS2.

So basically i have the images made and the programs available, so i guess the next step is to connect the PS2 to PC, oh yeah i have a crossover cable as well(at least i think it is).

BTW, if this works and it goes on the same HDD as the games already on it, which i installed using HDAdvance, will HDAvance be able to read those new games and be able to run them?

but you said you have hd advance 3.0 right? so that's maybe the reason the don't work try installing the exploit via hdadvance so you can upgrade yo hd loader 0.8b

The HDA disc you have is most likely the same a HDL version 0.7c or previous.
They havent made any new versions after this afaik.

ok, this time i have hdloader 0.8c like you guys said. now, do i have to do a MC exploit with this? also do i need to have my ps2 modded for this exploit? the reason i asked is because i have tried the exploit twice already from two different tutorials and they both failed to mention at the beginning that a modded ps2 is required to complete one of the steps which was the reading of the info burned to a CD. my ps2 is NOT modded. is there another way of doing the exploit without that burning and reading the cd part?

can someone provide a good link for the exploit?

its not hdloader 0.8c its 0.8b .

@ amp - those are not the only ways to load the exploit to mc. There is the option of loading by way of using a cheat device such as Action Replay Max, Codebreaker or Gameshark. Although they need to be a newer version that has the capability of transfering game saves to the ps2 from pc via usb memory stick. Exploitstation has an excellent tutorial on this.
