The only difference is only region lock out, there is no such seperate ps2's for PAL and NTSC, they will ALL play either format, perfectly. The reason you can't play pal on ntsc or vice versa, is ALL on your television, not the ps2. I use a VGA box and VGA monitor, so i have no television problems, i dont use a tv. The vga box converts the output to vga, anyway, and both pal and ntsc formats work on it. And my ntsc console (all ntsc consoles) could'nt care less what format the game is, pal games output pal, ntsc games output ntsc, and the vga box is like haveing a multi region tv, all games will play on my system.

But the answer is that you have a European bios, and Sweden is on the PAL system, and all Euro games are pal.
