burning PS" dvdr
I have a 104 dvd writer and have been trying to back up my ps2 discs as my heavy handed son has ruined a few I am having problems when i use prassi it completes the burn but when I try it in the ps2 all I get is the playstion 2 game logo and then it stops. I have managed to buy some dvd backups of games I own and had a go at copying one of them it worked fine and played great why can I copy a copy but not the original
I have a massiah chipped PS2
Get a good disc cleaner with a liquid spray solution to remove any smudges, fingerprints, etc. before attempting the backups. Also examine the surface for obvious gouges and scratches which will cause read problems.
Don't know what media you're using, but if you read through the threads in this forum, you'll notice we recommend 2x certified media like TDK, Verbatim, Apple, Pioneer, etc burned at 2x for the best results. If PrimoDVD or RecordNow makes it through both the read and burn cycle ok, it's typically the quality of the DVD-R media you used.
thanks for the reply
I founnd the answer in a past message and changed to p10 mode and everything works fine
Waters--you might want to go ahead and invest in a disk repairer (Game Doctor, Disk Docter, DVD Doctor, etc.) These resurfacing wheel gizmos can save your @$$ when trying to read those scratched up sources. I've had to resurface nearly every one of my brothers games b/c of my nephew's clumsy paws. Needless to say, I got him a cheap chip and SwapMagic set and burned him copies to avoid thrashing anymore originals.
