burning problems with primo
burning problems with primo –
I received my dvd burner today (dvr-104), and am having some troubles burning.
Almost instantly after starting a test burn, I get the following error:
Image Job Untitled1 terminated with errors.
Error -10 at Sector 80 - Command: 2A Sense:04 ASC:08 ASCQ:03
I installed PxEngineUpdate342.exe, but I don't know if it worked. It just pops up install shield, copies a few files, and goes away. There is no confirmation of install. Should there be?
I have tried 2 different images and 2 different dvd-rs. One image was an .iso, one was a .gi. Same problem both times.
-running the 1.31 firmware.
-tried burning at 1x and 2x.
-auto insert notification off
-autorun shield on
thanks for any help
When you start primo it will tell you its loading the px engine.
Cool. Glad you're up and running.
PIO Mode 4 is really the most generic and the safest (especially with older on-board motherboard controller chipsets.) As the typical IDE controller is so damn processor (CPU) intensive to begin with, running DMA only adds an additional burden to the CPU with the block memory transfers. If it misses one -- blooey!
If you mistakenly try to use Ultra DMA Mode 2 rather than Multi-Word DMA Mode 2, you wind up with errors like you got because even through you might think they're similar, they don't communicate with the burner the same way...
