I am trying to backup a copy of NBA Street and keep encountering a read error at certain sectors. I have tried using the latest versions or CDRWIN and NERO. I have a LiteOn-40x12x48 and also a Toshiba 50x CDROM and both can't read this game.

Is it do to it being an EA game or just a defective original?

Its probably the media that you are using, I burned that game serveral times, got about a 1/5 successful load, once I burned it on a verbatim datalife disc, it loads and plays flawlessly.

No, read my post again. My Burner or my CD reader just locks up a reading this game 3\4 the way through the read in either CDRWIN or Nero. I'm not at the burning process yet.

Why does everybody always use Nero or CDRWin? I've nothing but headaches with those two progs. I use Clone CD 3.2.2.1 WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. Some of y'all may laugh and call me a newbie...but my success rate is phenominal. I've used verbatim, TDK, and Imation discs all w/o problem.

I use an External USB HP 8200 burner too...again, it may not write at 32x but when burning a game one shouldn't write above 2x (in my opinion) anyway. Secret to my success is to use Clone to copy an image to my C:\ from my normal CDRom drive, then to burn the image to CDR. Again, all using Clone CD. My NBA street worked fine right out of the gate.
