Hey. Is there a way to break up a game into 2 discs for dual layer games like GoW2?
I'm not finding much info, especially not new info, but it should be an easy answer.
Free Mcboot, PS2 slim, don't know version...
I've got Maxell DVD-Rs, and sony DVD-R. and an emprex Dual layer DVD burner.

well, actually you don't need to split the game into 2 discs but rather burn it to one. you need to go to best buy and buy a pack a dvd9 discs (8.4GBdvd minus or plus).

    1. grab dvddecrypter to rip your game
    2. grab www.imgburn.com to burn the iso
    3. grab toxic dual layer patcher to patch the GOW iso for dvd9 compatibility on your console.
    4. grab ESRdisc patcher to work with ESR while booting it from fmcb.

grab most the apps at www.sksapps.com under the MISC at the ps2apps section.

    PS2 v9 | 250GB hdd | PS3 component cable | katana 32mb mc
    PS3/CECH-2001B | 250GB hdd | 3.65 ofw

    Hey guys,

    Here are the "specs"
    1) Free MC boot
    2) PS2 slim (baught about 2 years ago)
    3) Cant remember the name of media used
    4) Imageburn

    Problem (pertaining to GOW2):
I created a .ISO file (8.1gig) from a original game disc, patched it with the ERS patcher AND the Toxic patch, burned it to DL disc with Imageburn at X2.4, put it into the PS2. At first it took a while to load (as expected) but then I got to the main menu, selected the "new game" option and it loaded, playd about 2min of the game (video and sound not quite in tune with each other) then died, I then wanted to "restart from last checkpoint" but it just got stuk at the "loading" screen and that was it...... it wouldn't load and when i tried restarting the PS2 it would not load the game at all......!!!

Can someone please tell me where i went wrong, or what else I might need to do..... as I'm just about ready to toss it from a window or something.....!!

    Thanx

It might make a difference, in which order you´ve patched it.
Not sure, but maybe worth a try.
I think(/assume, because I only used Verbatim-DLs for my PS2 yet) other 1st-Class DLs will work, too.
Maybe some Sony DLs will do the job.
    PS2 V7/DMS3 V2 (FW:2.4b7); Seagate Baracuda 200GB

Thanx I'll give it a try.......!! But what boggles my mind is that it would read the disc and play it, and then next thing it doesn't want to load it......!!
