booting dvd rips with no solder modchip/action replay

Hey there, My name is Adam,

I would like to know if any of you's could help me with booting dvd rips on my ps2

I have a 'bali silver' cdr version of Grand theft auto 3 which when i try to boot will not fully load when i try the swap trick.

it stops on a black screen after i have swapped the discs.

I own the dvd copy of the game and it works fine but i heard the o/s copy of the game has a few minor differences to it.

the strange thing is that the other 'bali silvers' that i have, are made properly on cdr work fine, just that the ones that normally are on dvd and have been put on cdr as a 'bali silver' will not boot.

No solder mods. Well at least from what everyone tells me won't boot the dvd rips which are are on the 80 minute cdr's. I was playing State of Emergency which was on a 80 minute cdr and It seemed to work ok, but I believe I will have the same problem as you had because the gameshark or ar2 I believe has a 630 min limit? Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. Anyhow the the gameshark or ar2 is smaller than the game you want to play such as State of Emergency. The r-mod I have will work with cdr and dvd-r. But not the dvd-rips. I have read this before about the solderless mods. I'll be getting a magic 2 red pcb for my 30001 r version 5 usa ps2. I can hardly wait. This mod and some of the other new one's will boot everything without a swap. This new 30001 r magic 2 is even compatable with the gameshark 2 and ar2 and is only for the 30001 r.

For sure you will face problems running a dvd rip on v5 with a no solder mod and thats why my friend has a v5 with a neo 2.2 installed and he cant play the dvd rips which i have no problem playing on my v4 with a neo 2.2 installed.
