Booting Backups (will this method work?)
Booting Backups (will this method work?) –

sorry for my ignorance, but I have been using hdloader only for backups, and dont have as much knowledge as far as DVDr backups.
anyway, Ive been reading up, and was thinking about a method for booting, and need to know if its possible:
I boot to my memory card exploit, I take out the PS1 game and stick in a high TOC disk via the eject button (I have Xenosaga). I then do a slide card swap to a backup and then boot to CogSwap.elf from the MC/HD, and it will register that a PS2 dvd is in the drive, and I just tell it to launch.
otherwise, I do the same thing, except swap Xenosaga for CDLoader and then swap again for my backup (unless you can run cdloader off the HD, havent checked)...
would this work, or is my logic off,
thanks much.

The best way I have found is to put cogswapper on the mc and boot it from there then put your high toc disc in and press circle and wait for it to say "cogswap now" or something similar(can't remember off the top of my head)and swap using whatever method you usually use.
I have it set so the exploit boots to keylauncher and from there I can access Ps2menu-k,Cogswapper,Ps2link,Execftps and of course HDloader.I acctually have an original HDloader but its iffy about loading plus using the exploit gives you more options.
If u need any help pm me dude

don't use xenosaga...it's not a dvd5, like 99% of the ps2 games.
It's advd9, you need to refresh the TOC with the same type of media. SO use devil may cry, or grand theft auto, or a large game.
