iv only ever used verbatim and all have worked but some games have jummpy and out of sync sound
TY because out of the hundreds that i have burned i have only had 1 coaster and it was because my pc froze while burning so it wasn't the media it was hardware problem
Yep, Taiyo Yuden TYG02, 8x DVD-R @8x. Rima.com.
Taiyo Yuden hands down. Go do some searching around the net and you will find that those who really research their media, lean heavily towards Taiyo Yuden. They have consistantly proven themselves to be highly compatible and durable. Be wary of name brands as they often just outsource to other manufacturers of varrying quality. Verbatim as a whole does well as they are almost all Mitsubishi Chemicals produced but they are starting to introduce some lines that are made by CMC Magnetics and Ritek, and they don't have as strict a quality standard as Mitsubishi Chemicals. Taiyo Yuden on the other hand is a top quality manufacturer and you always know who is producing their media.
I'm a cheap ass and use Bulkpaq, i've used it always and never had a problem, it's a budget brand but also a reliable one in my experience!
Always used Memorex DVD-R never had any problems with them and I also use those when I back up my DVD's and again flawless performance.
I use Ritek Ridata G04 DVD-Rs
Using Ritek G05 DVD-R here, so far, so good.
I was reading in another thread that using bad media can damage your PS2 laser. ;o; Is this really the case? And how bad is bad? (ie is most media good or should i only use a few select brands to prolong my PS2's lifespan?)
For the record, avoid (like the plague) generic DVD-Rs with the blank white printable labels already on them. I tried running MMX Command Mission on one and the music stuttered like hell, with long load times just going to the menu. ;_; I also tried X-Men Legends 2, and the opening video was just incredibly grainy and pixelated.
