best brand for DvD-R drive

With the ps2 specificly in mind i was wondering what drive was the best for backing up games, and overall use. I had heard the Pioneer, (new) Sony, and Hp were good. I am new to all of this and was looking to buy a new dvd burner for general usage but mostly for backing up games.

there's about 30 threads here about different types of dvdr drives. Everyone, and i mean EVERYONE has their own opinion. My advice would be to read through these threads and come to your own conclusion.
