hello everybody
i want to back up my ps2 hard disk to my computer hdd .i searched my times but i havnt found a way . i tryed several image software . but they dont make image of ps2 formatted hard disk . somebody knows how to backup ps2 formatted hdd ? possible to do it ? please help and sorry for bad english
Did you use WinHiip? its a really popular tool and very easy to use.. u can extract all the images from your PS2 drive with this software and also transfer from PC to PS2....you can download the latest version from here

thanks for answer but you misunderstand me . i have used winhiip very very long time and i know it very well . but do you know what is the big problem for me ? winhiip doesnt support the hdd partitions and i cant use hdd partitions with winhiip. i said image ( back up ) sofware . it is more different than winhiip . do you know acronis true image norton ghost ? like that . i will back up my full ps2 harddisk into my computer hard disk
ok now i understand you... I dont know if one big image(iso,bin etc) can be created but several small images of the ps2 HDD can be created and then can be stored on your computer by using PS2-PC transfer apps like naplink or ps2link.. then when you want to again restore the images then this app can unpack the image for you and restore it onto the ps2 HDD as it was before....
The app i am talking about is HDL Dump, its a command line utility/Graphical utility run from your windows system, you need to have your ps2 drive connected to your comp for this... you can then make image backups of your ps2 drive and then transfer them to your comp...i suggest using the command line version..

i think you arent right this time too :) but i dont understand you very well but i know what did you say almost and you are talking about another subject . i can back up my windows and a hdd because hdd is formatted ntfs , fat and others . it is not about big iso files . but i cant back up formatted ps2 hdd because softwares dont support ps2 format so i cant all hdd backup into my computer .may be i must to say what i want to do it .i asked this question in forums but i didnt get answer for my question :( . i dont want to use matrix infinity installer cd for dev2 mode so i am searching another way. how can i do it without installer cd ? i will create formatted ps2 hdd and i will install matrix infinity installer with the cd after i will backup ps2 hdd into the my computer . i can install dev2 mode into the hdds without matrix installer cd anymore but i havnt succesed since now so softwares dont support ps2 formated hdd . may be there is a software for it. you can think that why dont you want to use installer cd ? i am repairer ps2 in turkey and i use it generally so i need to it . may be do you understand :) thanks for helps
but hdl dump supports and detects ps2 formatted HDD even if it does'nt show up in windows... jus plug in your HDD in your comp and try what i said... once again, i wanna ask ... do you want to backup your PS2 FORMATTED HDD by creating an image of the stuff that resides in the HDD?? if yes, then the above described method will work...
