Guys,
I heard that movies backed up (of course I mean backing up legally owned DVD movies) by using Pioneer A04 are NOT easy to play in a stand-alone dvd player (not a modded dvd ps2).
I read the following reviews for Pioneer A04 :
"Drive Works great, but most DVD movies, 99 % are copyright, and making Copies for your RV,SUV, or off site use wont work. I own over 100 DVD titles bought at stores, and only able to copy those that didnt have copyright protection. Word to the wise, Read related info on the NET. If you want this product for DV Editing, saving those files great. But for DVD Movies. Your out of LUCK... "
"So far I am pleased with this purchase. I've been using TDK dvd-rs for my projects. However, although they will play back fine on my computer, my luck has been so-so with getting the movies to work properly on standalone dvd players. It could be the authoring software I'm using, Ulead DVD Movie Factory, not sure because the playback problems are sporadic. I've tried 3 different standalone players, including a Samsung m101 and a Mitsubishi model, and have finally settled with a Toshiba SD-2800. So far it hasn't given me any problems and is much less finicky with dvd-rs than the former models. It kind of bums me out though, knowing that these discs won't play universally. If anyone has suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, I'd love to hear them. "
Any comments guys?
Questions:
(1)which dvd burner is best to back up dvd movies? I want the backups be easily played in a stand-alone dvd player (not a ps2 or a modded ps2).
(2) Anybody has experience in playing backup dvd movies in a un-modded ps2? How about modded ps2?
(3) Anybody has problem backing up dvd movies? I heard that some dvd movies are copyrighed and can not be copied by the burner.
thanks.
