also i heard about patching games and im confused, i read the nero thread at the top about copying ps2 games but it dosent say anything about patching, does it mean if i have my original ps2 game i can just copy it onto a dvdr? and this patching is for downloaded games? is that correct?

no, you need to patch some games in order it to work right in your ps2, If you don't patch it then it won't work....... And yes ps2 can read rw's....

Are you sure u have to patch certain games? i backed up my pal original copy of metal gear solid 3 using nero and chose 'copy entire dvd' option which is dvd to dvd and it worked, that game may not need patching then?

Why would you want to only play your games from DVD-RW/CD-RW? Everywhere on this forum I read about people disapproving of using DVD-RW's because it asks more of your laser than regular DVD-R/+R's. In mu humble opinion, spent a little more and buy some DVD-R's

    My V7 reads DVD+RWs perfectly. I haven't tried DVD-RW or CD-RW.
