    is there a way i can backup my retail version of hdloader just in case my retail one breaks

    You could just burn it, but you'd need a modchip to boot it.

    pretty sure you can't "burn it" hdloader had to be cracked before it was released because of the protection they built onto it.

    How come you have to have a modchip? How do they make it not need a modchip?

    they press the disc's where as you burn them
    and the ps2 can not boot burned disc's it has protection
