backing up games to hd

i got some games from my friend.i dont have a dvd burner.
(i will buy one in a couple of mounts)i want to make backups.
i heard that some image types have problems with specific burners.i havent decided which burner to buy.

so is there a way to make an image file which will work with every software and burner?

Use DVDDecrypter, never seen it fail. It's available for free at www.doom9.org > Downloads

Open DVDDecrypter
Select Mode >> ISO Read
Next, select a name and location for the file
Click on the big button with the disc

When you're ready to burn, open DVDDecrypter and select Mode >> ISO Write
Open your image file and burn.

That's it.
