Hi i want to backup one of my games 50 cent:Bulletproof which is actually dvd-9.I have a recordable dual layer disc,so what now?Do i just decrypt the iso with decrypter and then write it,or will i have to flattent the iso,and then burn it?
Ok i searched and found about the toxic patch but my question remains, will the iso be needed to be flattened before patched or just use dvd decrypter and then patch it without flattening?
Flattening only needs to be done if you are putting it on the HD. The patch is all that is necessary for putting it to D/L media. Be sure to set the booktype to DVD-ROM if you are using D/L DVD+R and as always remember that quality media MATTERS!!!!! I personally wouldn't touch anything but Verbatim for D/L media. Run the original through DVD Decrypter, then patch the ripped image with the toxic patch then write the patched ISO image to a D/L disc.
One more question. Now that i've made the backup,if i rip the game and i transfer tha patched iso on the ps2 hard drive, will it work?thanx.
BTW i couldn't find a verbatim so i used a primedisc.
i've used +R's set to -ROM book type and i've used -Rs (can't set book type here) and with or without the Toxic patch all i can get is the splash screen, the PS2 or Toxic Lightyears Ahead (burning MGS2 Substance), and after that the screen stays black, anyone have any suggestions? i've got a Magic 3.1 that is DVD-9 supportive in a V7.
TIA
kc
The Magic 3.1 can play original DVD9 games, but I don't think they can play backup DVD DL discs.

Primedisc DVD+R DL discs are made by Ritek. The one review there seem to be good, but those discs do not have the same proven track record as the Verbatim DVD+R DL discs.
Thanks Jon Jon, guess it is time to check into a new chip.
