    Hi guys,

It seems this game is about 7.48 GB.

I was simply wondering if it would be possible to flatten it and copy to HDD (HDLoader).

Yes you can shrink this game but then you have either just Male version or Female Version of the disk.
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/434555

I did this tutorial back then and it works fine on disk and on my hdd for the NTSC version anyway.
Should work for PAL as well.

I don't know about that particular game, but nowdays I don't do anything special to install dual layer games (eg: FF12), since the modern installation tools support it directly. In other words, separate 'flattening' operations should no longer be necessary.

Normally I install such games over LAN, using "HDL_Dump GUI v1.3" by vtecorona, with hdl_dump.exe v0.8.6 for low-level transfer, and hdld_svr.elf v0.8.5 running on the PS2.

Btw: In your 'sig' you have links to an extremely old version of uLE on CD. I feel sure that I've released much newer images than that, so I'd like you to remove the link to the 'stoneage' version. If the newer images were lost in the recent site crash, then I'll replace them shortly, so you can link to a modern one instead.

    @windrider42:
I'm afraid you misunderstood his question. He did not want to shrink the ISO, but to 'flatten' it, which simply means to store all the information unshrunk, but in a slightly different way so that it appears as a single layer disc, though larger than such a disc can normally be.

    Best regards: dlanor

Shouldn't really have to flatten it since HDL has been patched to do better on dvd9 games. You might just want to install your ISO with winhiip and see how it goes. if it doesn't work, then I would have to suggest that it is a bad rip as the title of this thread suggest that the game is less than legit.

You are correct, I did misread or misunderstand it. Thank you and by the way, off topic, I love your uLaunch program. Best program made for the PS2. It is well used by many.

I have copied my DVD9 games straight over to the hdd with WinHiip1.76 and they play with no problems.
They show up as 8.192GB and the other one is 6.656.
I used DVD decryter first to ISO, then copied image over.

I usually mount the games in Linux, then copy the files from the DVD9 to a new folder in /tmp/ and then I do a mkisofs that I inject using hdl_dump 0.8.6

Will remove the links, though i made those images myself and havent got the time yet to make new ones. But i have seen them around from other people, so i guess it is not even necessary to have them in my 'sig'.

    Greetz, Broodje

    *UPDATE*

Tried the way Dlanor explained, but the game froze after language select and some trademark logo's.

i already tried some modes still doesnt work, will try some more.
